Senate initiates confirmation proceedings of EFCC chairman, Olukoyede
The Senate has initiated the confirmation process for Mr. Ola Olukoyede, who has been nominated as the Chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC). Olukoyede, accompanied by some of the Commission’s management staff, is currently present at the National Assembly. President Bola Tinubu approved Olukoyede’s appointment as the Executive Chairman of the EFCC last week. This appointment is initially for a renewable term of four years, contingent upon confirmation by the Senate. Olukoyede’s appointment follows nearly four months after Tinubu suspended the former head of the anti-graft agency, Mr. Abdulrasheed Bawa.
