Ibori denies receiving any contract from NDDC
Former Governor of Delta State, James Ibori has denied ever receiving any contract from the Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC) as alleged by Akpabio. Akpabio had named Ibori as one of those who benefitted from the contract racketeering in NDDC. In a statement yesterday by Ibori’s Media Assistant, Mr. Tony Eluemunor, Ibori stated that he had never been given a contract, let alone a failed one, adding that the allegation is ridiculous. WAEC timetable is Muslim provoking – MURIC
The Muslim Rights Concern (MURIC) has reacted to the just released WAEC Timetable saying it is anti-muslim as it clashes with their Friday prayer time. Shoprite’s exit will help local supermarkets grow – Shehu Sani
Former Kaduna Lawmaker, Shehu Sani has reacted to reports that South African grocery store, Shoprite has announced plans to exit Nigeria. In a tweet he shared on twitter, he said their exit will help local supermarkets grow. Shoprite to leave Nigeria after 15 years
Africa’s biggest grocery retailer, Shoprite, is exiting the continent’s most populated country, Nigeria, after 15 years. The Cape Town-based retailer has started a formal process to consider the potential sale of all or a majority stake in its supermarkets in Nigeria, it said in a trading statement for the 52 weeks to end June released on Monday. In the statement, Shoprite said the results for the year do not reflect any of their operations in Nigeria as it will be classified as a discontinued operation. 45-year-old rescued by Nigerian Police from committing suicide, gives reason
45-year-old Adeyinka Abiodun has been rescued by the Nigerian Police from committing suicide on third mainland bridge. Adeyinka tried to kill himself over a debt of N500,000 he was owing a Microfinance bank. According to reports, he had collected a N390,000 loan from a microfinance bank in March, with the intent to upgrade his wine retail business, but the business failed and the money not recoverable.
