Hate speech fine now alternative to Oil revenue – Shehu Sani
Former Kaduna Lawmaker, Shehu Sani has reacted to reports that the federal Government has increased the fine for hate speech from N500,000 to N5Million. The Minister of Information and Culture, Alhaji Lai Mohammed, on Tuesday, reviewed the penalty for hate speech in Nigeria. Mohammed at the unveiling ceremony of the reviewed Nigeria Broadcasting Code organized by the National Broadcasting Commission (NBC) in Lagos said the penalty for hate speech has increased from N500,000 to N5 million. Akwa ibom loses APC Chairman
Chairman of the Akwa Ibom state chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Ini Okopido is dead. He died in the early hours of Wednesday August 5, at the Ibom Multispecialty Hospital (IBH), Uyo. His death has been linked to multiple organ failure. A source told The Nation; “Yes, our state chairman is dead. Infact the entire APC family in the state is in deep mourning. The Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC) has disclosed that the list of contract beneficiaries released by Godswill Akpabio, minister of Niger Delta affairs, is an authentic list from the commission and was not compiled by him. FG rescues 30 Nigerian ladies stranded in Lebanon
The Nigerian Government has rescued about 30 Nigerian ladies stranded in Lebanon. The ladies were seen in a viral video during the weekend begging for assistance from the Nigerian Government to return home.
