The National Judicial Council, NJC, has recommended elevation of Justice Mohammed Garba, who who dismissed former Vice President Atiku Abubakar’s petition against President Muhammadu Buhari, to the Supreme Court. The Chief Medical Director, University College Hospital (UCH), Ibadan Prof. Jesse Otegbayo has explained why the hospital lost 18 persons out of the 159 Covid-19 patients it has treated so far. Son of ex-Angolan president, Jose Filomeno dos Santos has bagged a 5 year jail term from a supreme court in Angola for $500m fraud. Family of Seven die of Food poisoning, Husband goes mad in Zamfara

Southern Kaduna Killings: El-Rufai blames Clerics for banditry
Governor of Kaduna State, Mallam Nasir El-rufai has blamed some clerics for fanning the embers of division in the state, which has led to the killings in Southern Kaduna. He made this known when receiving a delegation led by Primate of the Anglican Church of Nigeria, Most Reverend Henry Ndukuba. Any broadcast that insults the President, Governors and Senators will be sanctioned – NBC
The National Broadcasting Commission (NBC) has announced that it will henceforth sanction broadcast stations over messages that “insult” Nigerian leaders and elders. In the letter dated August 3 and signed by Chibuike Ogwumike, the zonal director of the NBC Lagos office, broadcast stations were warned against such messages from guests during their programmes.
