Lecturer suspended for Facebook post claiming Keke riders earn more than professors in ABSU

The management of Abia State University, ABSU, has suspended a lecturer, Professor Nnamdi Nwaeze of the Department of Economics, Faculty of Economics and Management Sciences.

Nwaeze had alleged on Facebook that some professors in the institution are earning less than N400,000 monthly.

He also claimed that some commercial tricycle riders make more money monthly than what professors receive in Abia State University.

Reacting, the management of Abia State University said the social media posts made by Professor Nnamdi Nwaeze were inimical to the interests of the institution.

The statement suspending the professor was released on Thursday,  August 13, and signed by Chijioke Nwogu, the Public Relations Officer/Deputy Registrar of the institution.

According to Nwogu, an investigative panel has been constituted to examine the matter.
