“Makinde’s Presidential Ambition Is Dead on Arrival” — Wike
FCT Minister Nyesom Wike has dismissed Governor Seyi Makinde’s reported presidential ambition, saying his move to align with the Allied Peoples Movement (APM) would not succeed.
Speaking during an inspection of road projects in Abuja, Wike claimed Makinde’s alliance with the APM was part of a long-planned strategy to pursue the presidency outside the PDP.
“What you have is Seyi Makinde joining APM to actualize his presidential ambition, which is already dead on arrival,” Wike said.
He also rejected claims of a wider PDP-APM alliance, insisting Bauchi State Governor Bala Mohammed had never publicly supported such a move.
Wike further reacted to comments surrounding Rivers State Governor Sim Fubara, maintaining that Fubara had not asked for sympathy and still remained in the APC.
