Assassination Attempt: Yunusa Tanko Recounts Violent Attack on Peter Obi

Yunusa Tanko, the National Coordinator of the Obidient Movement Worldwide, has officially described a recent attack on Peter Obi as a calculated assassination attempt.

Speaking Wednesday on Channels Television’s ‘Sunrise Daily,’ Tanko detailed the harrowing experience involving the former Labour Party presidential candidate and ADC chieftains.

The violence unfolded in Benin City, specifically targeting the group at the residence of former APC National Chairman, John Odigie-Oyegun.

“It’s clear to me that it was just an attempt at assassination because they followed us down to Oyegun’s house at GRA in Benin,” Tanko stated.

The group had initially completed a program at a nearby three-story building, which was reportedly attacked only five minutes after their departure.

The situation escalated upon their return to the GRA residence: “We then returned to Chief Oyegun’s house, where, despite expectations of heavy security, all of a sudden we started hearing gunshots.”

Tanko maintains that the persistence of the attackers proves the intent was lethal, leaving the political community in a state of high alert.
