Neo Akpofure Threatens Lawsuit Over Viral Rape Allegation

Reality TV star Neo Akpofure has initiated legal action against a social media user following a rape allegation posted on X (formerly Twitter). In a demand letter dated February 18, 2026, his solicitors labeled the claims as “entirely false, malicious and defamatory,” demanding an immediate retraction.

The legal warning was addressed to Ms. Arikan Udoka, who uses the handle @notralia. The dispute stems from a post made on February 17, where she claimed, “@NeoAkpofure is also a rapist. He raped me in UNICAL. He should come out and deny it.”

In her now-deleted post, Udoka described their history, stating, “We were casual sex buddies with the clause that he wasn’t in a relationship. I found out he was and went to his apartment to confront him. So he raped me. Neo come and say you didn’t do it.”

Akpofure’s legal team, E.L. Akpofure, SAN & Co., highlighted the contradiction in her statement. They noted that she admitted to a consensual relationship while simultaneously accusing him of a “grave criminal offence,” which they argue constitutes actionable libel under Nigerian law.

The solicitors stated that the post has caused their client “public odium, reputational injury, emotional distress, and severe personal and professional damage.” They warned that the allegation falsely portrays the Big Brother Naija star as a sexual offender and a criminal.

Neo’s team has given the user 48 hours to delete the post from all platforms and issue a clear, unequivocal public retraction. They also demanded a written apology and an undertaking that she will refrain from making further defamatory statements.

The letter concluded with a stern warning: “Take notice that should you fail, refuse, or neglect to comply… we have our Client’s firm and irrevocable instructions to initiate all appropriate legal proceedings against you without further notice.”
