Former Super Eagles captain, Troost-Ekong joins Qatari club, Al Ahli SC
Qatar Stars League club Al Ahli SC have confirmed the signing of former Super Eagles captain William Troost-Ekong.
The experienced centre-back joins the Doha-based side from Saudi club Al Kholood and has signed a contract that will keep him at Al Ahli until June 2028. He has also been handed his preferred No. 5 jersey.
Reacting to the move, the 32-year-old defender expressed his excitement on social media, describing the transfer as a new chapter in his career.
“Next Chapter! Happy to be here part of the @ahliqat family!” he wrote.
Troost-Ekong made 49 appearances for Al Kholood, scoring two goals and providing leadership at the back. His arrival is expected to strengthen Al Ahli as they push to finish the season on a strong note.
