If Fubara is impeached, then it’s a big indictment on President Tinubu’s ability to protect APC governors- Rufai Oseni
Media personality Rufai Oseni has reacted to the impeachment move against Rivers State Governor Siminalayi Fubara, saying it proves that governors defecting to the All Progressives Congress (APC) are not automatically protected.
In a social media post shared on January 20, Rufai argued that if the impeachment proceedings succeed, it would suggest President Bola Tinubu lacks the power to shield APC-aligned governors from political threats within the system.
His comments come as members of the Rivers State House of Assembly, reportedly loyal to FCT Minister Nyesom Wike, begin impeachment proceedings against Governor Fubara. The lawmakers insist the process is not driven by the ongoing political feud between Fubara and Wike, but by alleged infractions including claims of spending unbudgeted state funds.
