“We can’t be fighting over politicians” – Seun Kuti, Peter Okoye reconcile after feud over 2023 elections
Nigerian musicians Seun Kuti and Peter Okoye, popularly known as Mr P of the former P-Square duo, have settled their differences after a public fallout during the 2023 general elections.
The two artistes had clashed online over their opposing views on Peter Obi’s presidential ambition. Tension escalated when Seun Kuti described Obi as an opportunist, prompting Mr P to respond with harsh comments questioning Kuti’s relevance and achievements in music.
However, the rift appears to be over. The singers recently met at a Lagos nightclub and embraced, choosing to move past their earlier disagreement.
In a viral video from the meeting, Kuti was heard telling Mr P, “We are artistes, we can’t be fighting over politicians,” a statement Mr P agreed with as they made peace.
