Asake will perform at my wedding – Wizkid
Grammy-winning Nigerian superstar, Ayodeji “Wizkid” Balogun, has revealed that he wants fellow Afrobeats star Asake to perform at his wedding.
Wizkid remarked on a recent appearance on Apple Music Radio with Asake and DJ Tunez. He said Asake’s breakout hit “Omo Ope” instantly made him a fan, but “Remember” remains his favourite song, and the one he hopes Asake will perform on his big day.
Praising Asake, Wizkid described him as one of the most gifted vocalists in Africa and globally, adding that the singer is a “blessing to African music.”
The Starboy boss, who has been teasing his wedding plans for years, is currently in a relationship with his third baby mama and manager, Jada P. The couple shares three children, two boys and a girl.
He said, “‘Omo Ope’ made me an Asake fan from the first listen. But my favourite Asake song is ‘Remember’, I think you have to play that one on my wedding day. It is an amazing record.
“You [Asake] are amazing, you have one of the most special voices from home [Africa] and in the world. I have told you that like a million times and I am saying it again on radio. You are a blessing to African music.”
