Substance abuse: Regina Daniels needs help – AGN President, Emeka Rollas
Emeka Rollas, National President of the Actors Guild of Nigeria (AGN), has publicly called out Nollywood veterans who he claims were aware of Regina Daniels’ alleged substance abuse.
In a statement on Instagram, Rollas addressed what he described as “many allegations, misconceptions, and unnecessary accusations” surrounding the ongoing crisis involving Daniels and her husband, Senator Ned Nwoko. He reminded the public that Nwoko serves as the AGN’s Chairman, Board of Patrons, while Regina and her mother, Rita Daniels, are members.
Rollas named Jide Kosoko, Sanni Danji, Okey Bakassi, Charles Inojie, and Chinyere Wilfred as colleagues who allegedly witnessed Daniels abusing substances on movie sets. He questioned their silence, stressing that they knew she needed help and yet have remained quiet.
“For years, the Board of Trustees has allowed me to stand at the frontline of battles while they protect their reputations. Many senior colleagues know the truth surrounding recent events, yet they have stayed silent,” Rollas wrote.
He also addressed a claim about a travel arrangement, noting that Senator Nwoko only permitted Daniels to travel under certain conditions, a fact he says has been repeatedly twisted against him.
Rollas emphasized his responsibility to speak the truth clearly and responsibly for the Guild and the public.
