Nigeria Won’t Be Intimidated Amid Global Criticism Over Alleged Christian Killings – President Tinubu

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has reaffirmed that Nigeria will not be intimidated by external pressure or narratives surrounding alleged persecution of Christians in the country.

In a statement shared on his verified X handle on Friday, the President responded to recent comments by U.S. President Donald Trump, who threatened possible military action against Nigeria over alleged targeted killings of Christians.

Tinubu said Nigeria would continue to engage the world “with calm, clarity, and a strong sense of purpose,” emphasizing that the country’s sovereignty and unity remain paramount.

“We are indeed faced with terrorism, a challenge Nigeria has battled for almost two decades, and we will not back down. We will decisively defeat terrorism and claim victory in this battle,” Tinubu said.

He stressed that national security is non-negotiable, assuring Nigerians that his administration would not relent in its fight against insecurity. “With unwavering courage and a steadfast commitment to the rule of law, we will prevail,” he added.

The President also called on international partners to remain supportive of Nigeria’s security efforts, noting that collaboration remains essential in consolidating the gains made so far.

Tinubu’s statement follows Trump’s recent decision to classify Nigeria as a Country of Particular Concern (CPC), citing alleged religious persecution, a move the Nigerian government has described as misguided and unsubstantiated.
