“God May Use Trump to Reset the Minds of Nigerian Leaders” – Pastor Giwa
Senior Pastor of The Second Coming of Christ Ministry, Adewale Giwa, has said that God intends to use U.S. President Donald Trump to “reset the brains” of Nigeria’s political leaders.
In a statement released on Wednesday, Pastor Giwa expressed support for Trump’s threat of possible military action in Nigeria, arguing that only those profiting from terrorism would oppose it.
“Nigerians are happy to welcome the United States’ military intervention, given the persistent insecurity in the country,” he said. “Only those benefiting from terrorism and corruption would resist Trump’s decision to confront Islamic terrorists in Nigeria.”
The cleric lamented the country’s state of affairs, saying nothing works effectively except corruption and lawlessness, and blamed Nigeria’s founding leaders for seeking independence from Britain for selfish reasons rather than genuine liberation.
“What’s the essence of a government that cannot cater for its citizens?” he asked. “Nigeria was once a great nation under British rule, but today, those in government enjoy at the expense of the suffering masses.”
Pastor Giwa urged Trump not to be swayed by “campaigns of calumny” from those benefitting from Nigeria’s current challenges, insisting that drastic change was needed to restore order and accountability.
