Bayelsa Governor Douye Diri resigns from PDP
Bayelsa State Governor, Douye Diri, has officially resigned from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP). His resignation, announced today, October 15, marks a major political shift in the South-South region.
The Speaker of the Bayelsa State House of Assembly and 22 lawmakers also tendered their resignations from the opposition party.
Governor Diri’s exit comes barely 24 hours after Enugu State Governor Peter Mbah defected to the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC), fueling speculation that Diri is set to follow the same path and join the APC.
