Make sure she is progressing the same way you are progressing- Nigerian Nurse, Nancy Umeh advises married men

Nigerian nurse and content creator in the diaspora, Nancy Umeh, has called on married men to ensure their wives grow and advance just as they do.

In a viral video, Nancy reacted to a man who mocked her husband as a “houseboy” for being hands-on with their children. She expressed shock that women also liked the distasteful comment.

Addressing men with similar views, she stressed:
“Your wife paid the ultimate sacrifice to continue your legacy. If you do nothing else as a married man, make sure your wife is not stagnant. Her self-actualization directly affects her mental stability, and that stability shapes your children.”

Nancy revealed that although her husband earns five times more, he prioritizes her progress so she can contribute meaningfully to their home. She explained how he encouraged her to restart her career once their children began school.

According to her, many women grow resentful after decades of sacrifice because their husbands advanced while they remained behind.

She further urged men to stop acting like helping with childcare makes them “houseboys,” reminding them:
“You are not helping your wife—you are caring for your own legacy. Be present in your children’s lives, not just a provider.”
