Businessman and politician Babatunde Gbadamosi has urged Nigerians to “arm yourselves” to defend against terrorists in a series of posts on X, recommending everything from crossbows to rifles, drones and armoured vehicles. He wrote that citizens should “learn to use them” and “resist any attempt to disarm you,” warning that refusal would leave people vulnerable to attack.
The blunt call to arms drew mixed reactions online, with many followers questioning how ordinary citizens could legally obtain, afford, or operate such weapons, and raising concerns about the potential for escalation and lawlessness.
