Rivers: Fubara now has a new Master – Aisha Yesufu
Human Rights activist, Aisha Yesufu has weighed in on the recently resolved political crisis in Rivers State, claiming that President Bola Tinubu has now become the “master” of Governor Siminalayi Fubara.
The crisis, which began with a face-off between Fubara and the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike, saw the president suspend the governor six months ago. During the period, Tinubu imposed a state of emergency in Rivers and appointed a sole administrator.
Last week, the president lifted the emergency rule and reinstated Fubara, after both he and Wike announced they had settled their differences, restoring peace in the state.
On Tuesday, Fubara held a closed-door meeting with President Tinubu in Abuja, further fueling talks about the governor’s political alignment.
