Tobi Amusan Secures Silver in Women’s 100m Hurdles at World Championships

Nigeria’s sprint hurdler Tobi Amusan claimed silver in the women’s 100m hurdles at the World Athletics Championships in Tokyo on Monday, September 15. She finished in 12.29 seconds, just behind Switzerland’s Ditaji Kambundji, who set a new national record of 12.24 seconds to secure gold.

American Grace Stark took bronze in 12.34 seconds. Amusan, the 2022 world champion and world record holder, had dominated her semi-final heat but could not hold off Kambundji’s late surge in the final.

The silver medal adds to Amusan’s impressive collection, following her historic 12.12-second world record run in Eugene in 2022.
