I have never been involved in thuggery or electoral malpractice – Peter Obi
Peter Obi has challenged anyone with evidence linking him to the sponsorship of thuggery or violence during elections to make it public.
The 2023 Labour Party presidential candidate made this statement while firmly distancing himself from electoral malpractice, violence, or thuggery, emphasizing that he has maintained a spotless record throughout his political career.
Posting on X, the former Anambra State governor wrote: “Throughout my political journey, I have never been involved in thuggery, the snatching of ballot boxes, or any form of electoral malpractice.
“I challenge anyone: conduct your investigations. You will find no stains of rigging or violence associated with my name.”
Obi said all through his political journey, he has never falsely accused or framed his opponents.
“Ask those who have contested against me, none were ever denied their rights, framed, or falsely accused,” he said.
