2027: Coalition not about anyone but Nigeria – Atiku
Former Vice President Atiku Abubakar has explained that the opposition coalition led by the African Democratic Congress (ADC) was formed to safeguard Nigeria’s democracy from what he described as the ruling party’s creeping authoritarianism and electoral manipulation.
Atiku emphasized that the coalition is not about individual political figures like himself, Peter Obi, Rotimi Amaechi, or Nasir El-Rufai but rather about preserving democratic integrity, which he says is under serious threat from the APC administration.
This statement comes amid speculation about a looming contest for the coalition’s 2027 presidential ticket.
“This is not an anti-Tinubu project; it is a pro-Nigerian movement. Nigerians must be the ultimate beneficiaries of this effort,” he stated.
