”Our history would not have been completed carefully and richly if I had failed in the last election” – President Tinubu

President Bola Tinubu has stated that the story of history would have been incomplete if he had not won the 2023 presidential election.

He made the remark on Sunday, July 20, during the 8th-day Fidau prayers held in honour of the late Awujale of Ijebuland, Oba Sikiru Kayode Adetona, who passed away at 91. The monarch was one of Nigeria’s longest-serving traditional rulers, ascending the throne on April 2, 1960.

Oba Adetona died shortly after the passing of former President Muhammadu Buhari, with whom he shared a decades-long friendship.

At the gathering, Tinubu revealed that the late Awujale had urged him to run for president in 2023 and had confidently predicted his victory.

”Our history would not have been completed carefully and richly if I had failed in the last election,” Tinubu said.
“I was successful because of your support and the blessing of the late Awujale,” he added.
