Shehu Sani, the former Senator for Kaduna Central, has proposed a method for utilizing the 753 houses in Abuja that were confiscated from the former Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) Governor, Godwin Emefiele.Sani suggested that these seized properties should be distributed among Nigeria’s polytechnics, universities, colleges of education, and research institutes.
In a post on X, the former lawmaker expressed his belief that future generations of Nigerians would gain valuable lessons from the history associated with these buildings.
He wrote: “The 753 seized Houses in Abuja should be shared to all Nigerian Universities, Polytechnics, Colleges of Education and Research Institutes. It’s enough to go round. They can decide what they want to do with it.
The future generation will learn from the history of the Houses and appreciate the actions taken.”In December 2024, the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) successfully secured the final forfeiture of the estate linked to Emefiele.
