There is no vacancy in aso rock – Joe Igbokwe reacts as Atiku reportedly seals deal with Obi
Joe Igbokwe, a prominent member of the All Progressives Congress (APC), dismissed reports of a political alliance between former Vice President Atiku Abubakar and former Labour Party presidential candidate Peter Obi ahead of the 2027 elections.
Igbokwe characterized such speculations as mere “rumours,” emphasizing that President Bola Ahmed Tinubu remains the dominant political figure in Nigeria and is poised to continue leading the country until 2031.
He further asserted that any presidential aspirant harboring ambitions for the 2027 election should reconsider, as there is “no vacancy in Aso Rock” during that period. Igbokwe’s remarks underscore the APC’s confidence in Tinubu’s political standing and the party’s readiness to counter any opposition alliances.
Reacting in a post on his official Facebook page on Monday, Igbokwe declared that the alignment will not fly, stressing that it cannot sell.
Igbokwe, one of the supporters of President Bola Tinubu, wrote, “Alhaji Atiku Abubakar childish and primitive deal with Labour Party is laughable and kindergarten.
“It is an act of desperation. It cannot fly and it cannot sell.”
