Peter Obi had no chance of winning the election, I don’t do social media candidates – Wike on why he backed Tinubu
The Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike, has explained why he did not support Labour Party’s Peter Obi in the 2023 presidential election.
Speaking during a media chat in Abuja on Friday, the former Rivers State Governor said he believed Obi stood no realistic chance of winning. Wike added that he does not support candidates driven solely by social media hype, which is why he chose to back President Bola Tinubu instead.
“He had no chance of winning the election; you people like this kind of social media candidate. I don’t do social media candidates. I sit down as a politician and analyse candidates who are likely to win an election”
