Reno Omokri has defended the Kano State Government’s decision to allocate funds for mass weddings, arguing that arranged marriages are among the most successful.
He dismissed concerns about the brides’ ages, stating that his findings confirmed none were underage. Addressing critics, he emphasized that Kano prioritizes education, reportedly spending ₦25 billion on it in 2024, making the ₦2.5 billion spent on weddings insignificant.
Omokri maintained that cultural differences should be respected, asserting that while some may prioritize fornication, Kano prefers legal marriage before intimacy.
