Burna Boy: ‘Stepped back to gather energy’ – Speed Darlington speaks after prolonged detention

Controversial Nigerian singer Speed Darlington has spoken out after his release from prolonged incarceration. He was initially arrested for alleged cyberstalking after claiming Burna Boy’s Grammy win was due to ties with embattled rapper Diddy, who faces serious legal issues.

After his initial release on bail in October, Darlington was rearrested in November during a performance in Imo State and held in Kuje prison until January 21, 2025. His lawyer accused Burna Boy of bribing police to prolong his detention despite a court order for his release.

Upon his release, Burna Boy issued a now-deleted warning on Instagram, threatening Darlington with further legal consequences if he misbehaved. However, Darlington dismissed the warning, posting a symbolic video of two rams clashing, seemingly unrepentant and ready to continue his feud.

Captioning the trending clip on his Instagram page, he said ” I’m back. To those fighting, one step back, it is not running away, he went to gather energy and launch back with a banger!”
