Mahama sworn-in as Ghana President

John Mahama has been sworn in as Ghana’s president during an inauguration ceremony attended by global leaders.

The former president was declared the winner of the December 8, 2024, election, defeating Vice President Mahamudu Bawumia.

Having previously served as Ghana’s 12th president from 2011 to 2017, Mahama returns to power through re-election.

Nigerian President Bola Tinubu traveled to Accra for the event, which is being held in the Ghanaian capital.
