Nigerians will thank me for taking tough decisions. I am thinking about the next generation. – President Tinubu

President Bola Tinubu expressed confidence that Nigerians would eventually appreciate the difficult policies and decisions his administration is currently implementing.

Speaking at the South-West Assembly of the All Progressives Congress (APC) held at Eko Hotels and Suites in Lagos on Saturday, October 5, Tinubu conveyed his message through his Chief of Staff, Femi Gbajabiamila, who represented him at the event. Key APC leaders from the southwest attended the assembly, including governors, deputy governors, federal and state lawmakers, and former officials.

Tinubu acknowledged that his administration’s reforms have drawn widespread criticism but assured APC members that these tough decisions are necessary to guide the country in the right direction. He also expressed gratitude for the support shown to his government.

Furthermore, the president emphasized that his focus is not on the 2027 election but on improving the lives of Nigerians and leaving behind a prosperous nation for future generations.

“We acknowledge that our decisions have been tough, but they needed to be taken. The gains are at the end of the tunnel. That time will come when we will all be happy and thank our government for taking those decisions. Right now, I am not thinking of the next election but about the next generation.

This is why we are implementing reforms that are long overdue. This is the hallmark of a true leader.”
