‘’Continue to ruin your region because of the quest for power or hate for another tribe’’- Seyi Law writes as he shares video of a Northern leader decrying insecurity in the region

Comedian SeyiLaw has urged Northerners to “continue to ruin their region” if their motive is to reclaim power or due to their “hatred for another tribe.”

He made this statement on his X handle after sharing a throwback video of Northern leader Professor Usman Yusuf, who criticized the poor security situation in the region despite having had a Northern President, Vice President, and Speaker of the House of Representatives.

He emphasized that Northerners should introspect and acknowledge their role in addressing the region’s security challenges. Despite having key government positions—such as the Vice President, Speaker of the House of Representatives, Secretary to the Government, the highest-ranking military officer, and ministers of defense and police—filled by Northerners, the region still struggles with peace. Yusuf asserts that President Tinubu from the Southwest cannot bring peace to the North; it is the responsibility of Northerners to achieve it, not the military.
