The rising cases of violence against manhood demand a specific law to protect it against being abused – Shehu Sani
Former Senator and Civil Rights Activist Shehu Sani has expressed concern over the increasing incidents of men having their genitals cut off during domestic disputes in Nigeria.
Sani during an interview in Abuja on Wednesday, advocated for the implementation of strict laws against such acts in Nigeria.
He noted that these incidents have been rising and emphasized the need for legal protections for men against such violent acts by their spouses.
Sani also condemned the actions of the Kaduna housewife who attacked and mutilated her husband.
”The woman who cut the manhood of her husband in Kaduna has committed a serious crime. The rising cases of violence against manhood demand a specific law to protect it against being abused.
The sanction, he said, should be punitive, to protect manhood from being denigrated, insulted, wasteful, injured or amputated, so that men can live their full lives.
