Tinubu moves school feeding programme from Humanitarian Ministry to Education

President Bola Tinubu has instructed the relocation of the school feeding program from the Federal Ministry of Humanitarian Affairs to the Ministry of Education.

The Minister of Education, Prof. Tahir Mamman, made this announcement on Thursday during a one-day retreat on ministerial deliverables (2023 – 2027) for all Directors and Chief Executive Officers of parastatals under the ministry.

Prof. Tahir explained that, as part of the president’s agenda to address the increasing challenges of out-of-school children in the country, the school feeding program has been reintroduced in Nigeria’s basic education system to tackle the learning crisis.

This move is aimed at addressing the issues currently affecting the country’s out-of-school children. It’s worth noting that the program was suspended during former President Muhammadu Buhari’s administration after many years of operation.
