”Remaining Two Months” – Shehu Sani reminds FG of 2023 deadline to commence manufacturing of airplanes in the country

Former Kaduna Lawmaker, Shehu Sani has reminded the Federal Government on Thursday that it has just two months left to fulfill the promise made by the previous administration to begin manufacturing airplanes.

In 2021, the former Minister of Aviation, Hadi Sirika, announced the country’s intention to commence aircraft manufacturing before the end of 2023. This declaration came after he conducted an inspection visit to an aircraft manufacturing company in Pogany, Hungary.

The former minister stressed that locally producing aircraft in Nigeria would not only position the country as a regional aviation powerhouse but also provide maintenance and repair facilities that could attract customers from neighboring nations.
