Police spokesperson Olumuyiwa Adejobi responds after he was asked to swear by his village deity that he has never accepted bribe

The spokesperson of the Nigeria Police Force, ACP Olumuyiwa Adejobi, addressed a query from an X user who challenged him to affirm under his village’s deity that he has never taken a bribe throughout his tenure in the Nigerian police force.

This inquiry came about after Adejobi proclaimed that bail is without charge and urged Nigerians not to offer any money in exchange for the release of a detainee.

The inquirer proceeded to inquire if Adejobi had never engaged in corrupt practices involving bribery.

Adejobi replied, asserting that since commencing his service in the police force in 2005, he has never succumbed to bribery. He also added that he holds the title of a crowned prince of Owu, making it unthinkable for him to engage in corrupt acts such as accepting bribes.
