We need a MOHBAD Law against cultist intimidation in all our institutions – Seun Kuti

Seun Kuti has advocated for legislation to combat intimidation by cult members. He made this plea following the passing of singer Ilerioluwa Aloba, also known as Mohbad, whose death raised suspicions of cult-related involvement and activities within the entertainment industry.

In response to the circumstances surrounding Mohbad’s demise on his Instagram page, Seun Kuti expressed his belief that Mohbad’s passing was linked to cult activities.

He emphasized that this menace has persisted and poses a significant threat to the upcoming generation. Seun Kuti pointed out that cultism has deeply infiltrated the Nigerian society to the extent that even law enforcement agencies and individuals claiming to abide by the law may have affiliations with these groups. He drew from his personal experience during detention, revealing that numerous officers openly declared their association with such groups, assuming he was one of them.

According to him, “When I was locked up numerous police officers and their ogas told me their different cultist affiliation thinking I was one of them so they could help me, even the police are cultists. Now u are asking cultist to investigate cultists. #getthesax.”

“A nation of cowards!! We need a MOHBAD Law against cultist intimidation in all our institutions. Anything short of that is nothing!! The National Assembly must do this monumental work to protect future generations from this scourge. #mohbadlaw”
