Veteran Singer, Chris Mba is dead

Chris Mba, a renowned Nigerian pop musician who had reportedly been suffering from heart disease, passed away on Wednesday at the Lagos University Teaching Hospital (LUTH).

The artiste, who hailed from Abia State, died from a heart-related ailment on Wednesday night. Michael Odiong, the General Manager of Premier Music, confirmed the news of his death on Thursday in a post.

In 2019, journalist Azuka Jebose shared a distress message from the musician on Whatsapp, seeking financial assistance for his hospital treatment at LUTH. The late Chris Mba was a popular figure in the 1980s, known for his iconic Jerry curl and hit songs like ‘Funky Situation,’ ‘Love Everlasting,’ ‘Baby Don’t Cry,’ and ‘Making my way.’
