Most Nigerian leaders don’t know their history, that is why they don’t understand the problems confronting their people while in power – Abaribe

Lawmaker representing Abia South Senatorial district, Enyinnaya Abaribe has said that most Nigerian leaders don’t know their history and because of this they do not understand the problems confronting their people while they occupy any seat in power.

Abaribe said this while speaking at a book launch over the weekend. He noted also that the country has a flawed leadership recruitment process.

The Senator further averred that the problem with Nigeria has been that of ethnic-triumphalism.

In his words;

“Most Nigerian leaders do not know their history; the leadership recruitment process is highly flawed. And that is why when people get into power, they don’t understand the problems confronting their people. The problem with Nigeria has been that of ethnic-triumphalism. This has promoted impunity in the country.”
