No Agreement yet to Suspend Strike ― ASUU
The Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU) has denied reports stating that it agreed to call off the ongoing strike after meeting with the Federal Government negotiation team led by the Minister of Labour and Employment, Senator Chris Ngige on Friday, November 27.
There had been reports that the union and the Federal Government had reached an agreement to call off the ongoing ASUU strike after the government reportedly increased its offer for Earned Allowances and funding for the revitalization of public universities to N70 billion.
Reacting to the report, Prof. Biodun Ogunyemi, ASUU President denied knowledge of any agreement to call off the strike. According to him, it was only agreed that the union should convey the Government’s message to their organs and get back to the Government.
The ASUU President told reporters on Saturday morning: ” I am not aware of that. All I know is that we had a meeting and we are going to report to our members. But I don’t know about suspension of the strike.”
We hope there will be an agreement very soon
u people should agree on one thing oo because I don’t want hear story
Please you leaders should please know what to do about it cause we are tired of staying at home
Just hoped everything is resolved quickly…..
Is not your fault, sabi you guys are receiving your salaries despite the strike. If the government had stop your salaries on the bases of no work no pay. You would have call off the strike
The media houses are insinuating upon hearing one side of the party without consulting the other.
You need to reach a compromise for the benefit of the students not for the sake of the government.
Students have stayed long at home, even those who either by the accident or intentionally impregnated would about to deliver. Kindly consider the students.
it is no longer funny what is the source of this news
ASUU!!! You really tried for fighting for the future of these children and at the same time put them into consideration also.
Let your efforts not be in vain. After all this weeks without achieving your goal. Let the strike continue until your goals and demands are met
This is ridiculous
Why are they reporting what they are not sure of
Stories are meant to be confirmed before dishing them out to the public
I think these is taking too long, they should look for a way to resolve it.
Dear asuu please you both should help the country and call back the strike so that student can return to their various classes

Students Have Stayed Long At Home, Even Those Who Either By The Accident Or Intentionally Impregnated Would About To Deliver. Kindly Consider The Students.

It’s better let them settle this once and for all.

I guess there will be an agreement very soon
Federal govt should adhere to their demands and put an end to all these insensitive meetings with asuu
This is quite funny not after making us to feel that they have accepted the offer ends they need to call off the strike
