Celebrity entrepreneur Laura Ikeji Kanu has said many Nigerian celebrity-owned businesses fail due to lack of support.
According to her, while fans celebrate celebrities’ music and lifestyle, they rarely buy from their brands, leading to declining sales and eventual shutdowns.
She also noted that even fellow celebrities don’t patronise each other, and investors are often hesitant due to concerns about financial discipline.
Laura added that perceptions of high pricing and luxury lifestyles further discourage buyers, urging Nigerians to support businesses owned by celebrities they admire.
