A Nigerian woman, Tracy McWary, has revealed that she went ahead and married her ex-husband even after discovering he was sleeping with her best friend.
Tracy shared the story in a Facebook post on Monday, December 22, explaining that she later left the marriage just two months after the wedding as an act of revenge. According to her, the decision was deliberate and meant to prove that she was “sweeter, better, and more marriageable” than her former best friend.
She argued that infidelity does not always equate to love, saying that if her ex truly loved her friend, he would not have married her in the first place.
”Before I married my Ex-Husband, I found out he was sleeping with my best friend. I still went ahead and married him and dumped him two months later. Women are too emotional and they must apply emotional intelligence. That a man slept with a woman doesn’t mean he loves her, it’s just for the moment. If he loved her, why did he marry me? It was just to ease pressure and nothing more. I proved a point at the end of the day, I am Sweeter, better and marriageable. So at the end of the day, I WON,” she wrote.
Tracy said her actions were driven by emotional intelligence rather than anger, advising women not to act impulsively when hurt. She encouraged staying calm, showing love outwardly, and responding strategically.
Her post was made in reaction to another woman’s story about her husband impregnating their maid. Tracy said she would not leave her matrimonial home because of a domestic staff, insisting she would only leave on her own terms.
She added that quiet revenge, handled without drama or evidence, is sometimes the most effective response, urging women to remain composed and calculated rather than emotional.
