Not even $1bn can make me join politics – Bishop Oyedepo
Bishop of the Living Faith Church Worldwide, David Oyedepo, has declared that no amount of money, including one billion dollars, could convince him to venture into partisan politics.
Oyedepo made the statement while speaking to worshippers during the impartation service at Shiloh 2025, the church’s annual convocation. He urged believers to remain focused on their divine assignments rather than pursuing paths outside their calling.
The cleric stressed that political participation does not align with his life’s purpose.
“Partisan politics is off my calling. If you give me $1 billion to join politics, I won’t, because it’s off my course,” he said.
Reflecting on past events, Oyedepo recalled that he had warned the church in 2015 about looming challenges, noting that those warnings later came to pass.
He added that the world is facing deepening crises and requires divine solutions, citing Romans 8:19. According to him, believers who remain committed to their God-given purpose will be positioned to offer answers to national and global problems.
