I’m not among northerners coming together to say Tinubu must go – Tambuwal
Former Sokoto State Governor, Aminu Tambuwal, has said he is not part of any northern coalition seeking to force President Bola Tinubu out of office, but insisted he is fully committed to democratically removing Tinubu and the All Progressives Congress (APC) in 2027.
Speaking on Channels Television, Tambuwal said his ongoing issues with the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) are politically motivated, claiming the Tinubu administration is uncomfortable with his activities in the opposition African Democratic Congress (ADC).
When asked directly if his EFCC trial was politically induced, Tambuwal replied in the affirmative, saying those behind it are “worried” about his political engagement. He added that his actions are driven by a clear goal to lawfully unseat the current government through democratic means.
“I’m 100 percent committed to a process that will, by the grace of God and with the support of Nigerians, send this government out of office,” he said.
Tambuwal clarified that while many Nigerians, including northerners, are unhappy with the Tinubu administration, he is not involved in any regional conspiracy. Instead, he said he is part of a national coalition working toward a constitutional change of leadership in Aso Rock on May 29, 2027.
