Our local hunters should be allowed to secure our bushes and farmsteads – Prophet Sam Olu- Alo
Christian cleric, Prophet Sam Olu-Alo, has called on the federal government to engage local hunters in protecting Nigeria’s farmsteads, worship centres, and forested areas currently under attack by bandits and terrorists.
Speaking in an interview with our correspondent on Friday, Olu-Alo said that true local hunters possess the knowledge, experience, and traditional methods needed to confront the criminals destabilising rural communities and faith-based institutions.
“He further appealed to the government, religious bodies, and traditional rulers to partner with these hunters, noting that they hold vital grassroots intelligence capable of strengthening security in their communities.
Insecurity always starts at the grassroots. Our local hunters should be allowed to secure our bushes and farmsteads. They should be given adequate support and not neglected, as they would assist the police and other security operatives.”
“Religious leaders should also be involved in the fight against banditry and terrorism. It is our responsibility as ambassadors of God on earth to ensure that there is peace in our country, irrespective of our faith, whether we are Christians, Muslims or traditional believers,” he added.
“I have always advocated corporate prayer by all true men of God in Nigeria. Let all the men of God come together and cry to God about Nigeria and see if something spectacular would not happen within 24 hours.
“None of our church members should be involved in this joint prayer session of all men of God and we must not differentiate or base our coming together on denominational lines, but as one body of Christ’s church, disciples of Christ.
“All men of God who would be party to this should have strong faith and oneness of mind. We will surely move mountains and solve Nigeria’s problems once and for all.”
