”If you can’t satisfy your husband, don’t block him from taking a second wife” – Nigerian Woman tells married women
A Nigerian woman, Halima Bukola Mubaraq, has stirred heated conversations online after advising married women not to stop their husbands from taking a second wife, especially if they feel unable to satisfy them sexually.
In a Facebook post on Monday, Halima urged wives to be honest with themselves and avoid using emotional pressure to prevent their husbands from considering polygamy.
“Wife, please, if you know deep down that you can no longer satisfy your husband, and he is capable and ready to take another wife, then don’t stand in his way,” she wrote.
She added that threatening or guilt-tripping a man in such situations only creates bigger problems. According to her, if a husband falls into zina (fornication) because he feared upsetting his wife, part of the sin falls back on her.
Halima also addressed men, warning them not to allow emotional manipulation to dictate major marital decisions.
“If you let a woman’s emotions push you into disobeying Allah, then you’re not leading with wisdom. A real man is guided by fairness, strength and faith, not fear or guilt,” she said.
She concluded by reminding couples that, ultimately, both husband and wife will stand before Allah individually, and love will not erase accountability.
