Regina Daniels’ Brother, Sammy West, Granted Bail After Arrest Linked to Senator Ned Nwoko
Human rights lawyers led by Barrister Marshal Abubakar have secured the bail of Samuel Ojeogwu, better known as Sammy West, the brother of Nollywood actress Regina Daniels. His detention was allegedly ordered by her estranged husband, Senator Ned Nwoko.
The news was confirmed by Omoyele Sowore, human rights activist and former presidential candidate, who said the legal team had successfully obtained bail, which was being finalized. Sowore accused the Nigeria Police Force, acting under the influence of the All Progressives Congress (APC), of unlawfully detaining Ojeogwu.
Ojeogwu was earlier arraigned in Abuja on charges of criminal conspiracy, trespass, assault, intimidation, and theft, following a petition filed on October 28, 2025, against him and three others.
According to FCT Police spokesperson SP Josephine Adeh, the suspect ignored multiple police invitations before being arrested in Lagos on a court warrant and transferred to Abuja for questioning. She added that he was charged on November 6 and remanded pending the fulfilment of his bail conditions.
Adeh emphasized that the FCT Police Command remains committed to professionalism, due process, and the rule of law, despite the growing controversy surrounding the case.
