EFCC declares Timipre Sylva wanted
The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has declared Timipre Sylva, former Minister of State for Petroleum Resources and ex-Governor of Bayelsa State, wanted over alleged financial crimes.
According to the EFCC, Sylva is being sought in connection with a case involving conspiracy and dishonest conversion of $14.86 million, funds reportedly injected by the Nigerian Content Development and Monitoring Board (NCDMB) into Atlantic International Refinery and Petrochemical Limited for refinery construction.
The anti-graft agency said the public notice followed a warrant issued on November 6, 2025, by the Lagos State High Court.
Sylva, 61, hails from Brass Local Government Area of Bayelsa State. The EFCC has urged anyone with information about his whereabouts to contact any of its zonal offices nationwide or reach out via 08093322644 or info@efcc.gov.ng.
