I can attest that long-term relationships can be successful – Nigerian lady says as she sets to wed Fiancé After 9 Years of Dating

A Nigerian woman, Silas Tamwasana, is set to marry her longtime partner, Francis Lureino, on November 30, 2025, after nine years of being together.

In a heartfelt post shared online, Tamwasana reflected on their journey, saying that long-term relationships can indeed work, but only when there is clarity, patience, and commitment.

She revealed that she met Francis in 2016, during a difficult period when she was grieving the loss of a close friend. Encouraged by another friend, she eventually gave love a chance, though it took her a full year to fully commit to the relationship.

“I met Francis in 2016, but I was hesitant because I was still healing from losing a dear friend. My friend advised me to give it a try. Although I wasn’t fully in at first, by 2017 I had invested myself completely, and here we are in 2025,” she wrote.

Tamwasana also shared that Francis introduced her to his parents for the first time just two days before their engagement, describing the moment as both surreal and affirming.

She concluded with a message to others: “Long-term relationships can work, but they need clear definition and commitment. Don’t be misled — love can endure.”
