No good leader goes underground when the sound of thunder threatens his country – Reno Omokri slams Peter Obi over silence on Trump’s threat to send troops to Nigeria
Social commentator Reno Omokri has faulted Labour Party presidential candidate Peter Obi for keeping silent amid the uproar over U.S. President Donald Trump’s threat to deploy troops to Nigeria following allegations of a Christian genocide.
Trump’s recent designation of Nigeria as a “Country of Concern” and his comments about possible military intervention have sparked widespread debate at home and abroad.
In a post on his official Facebook page, Omokri described Obi’s silence as “deeply suspicious” and unworthy of a national leader. He argued that a true leader should speak up during national crises, not “go underground when thunder threatens his country.”
Omokri further alleged that Obi’s silence could be seen as tacit approval of Trump’s remarks, calling it “a most suspicious and inauspicious silence” from someone known for always having an opinion.
