I can afford to buy a private jet but I have more important things to take care of – Don Jazzy

Mavin Records boss and Nigerian music mogul, Don Jazzy, has revealed why he chooses not to spend lavishly on luxury cars or private jets despite being financially capable of doing so.

Speaking in an interview with Habby FX, the producer said that while he’s been wealthy enough for years to afford any car or even a private jet, he prefers to focus on meaningful priorities like investments and empowering others.

“I’ve been blessed enough for a long time to afford any type of car I want or even buy a private jet,” he said. “But I have more important things to take care of. Nothing beats investment.”

Don Jazzy, who is currently learning forex trading, described it as part of his personal development. “The forex I’m learning now is an investment in myself. Tomorrow, it’ll become a skill I can use. Don’t just be useless, go and acquire a skill,” he advised.

He further urged young Nigerians to focus on skill acquisition rather than chasing only white-collar jobs, emphasizing that in today’s digital and AI-driven world, many traditional roles are becoming obsolete.

“You don’t have to be a doctor, lawyer, or engineer,” he added. “Even carpentry or furniture making, these are valuable. We still import tables and chairs from Turkey and China. If we had skilled people here, we could make those things ourselves.”
